Journeys

The Grid is visually a plane. [That is, a flat geometric object] and does not infer the concept of a ‘folded space’. The trouble with origami [and the folding clip in the presentation] is that the folding is a series of planes and not an organic flow [according to Maria]. Is this why Andy has a problem with it? But, the folding of the paper in origami does result in an organic emulation!

Perhaps it might be possible to incorporate a scrolling text into the presentation behind the imagery as that text is an integral/pivotal part of my work.
Perhaps I should treat the text/ theoretical knowledge as raw material and use this text as a trigger. Text is a landscape between visuality and text.

Should I interrogate the plane as a presence of texture; the plane as a tactile presence. Then I might have the possibility to charge the visual image with this tactile presence. The employment of this tactile presence is a strategy to address the image that mirrors the topological presence. [strategy of making]. I can then
create a parallel between the image and 3d work.
Image = tactile presence
3d Work = topological presence.

The screen represents a topological twist… should it be laid onto a 3d structure for the final show? [instead of hanging straight?]

I might consider using two pieces of knit / or even 2-3 constructions [topological presences] as a screen to project the piece onto. Address the ‘play of the surface’. [The 3D ness is the texture]
The Screen is a topological presence… Knit and Text overlay this.
